Athens Academy Islamabad ("Athens Academy Islamabad", "the Company", "we", "us", or "our") operates the online study portal at athensacademyisl.com (the "Service"), serving Pakistani students — both in Pakistan and abroad — who are preparing for Matric (Grades 9–10) and FSc (Grades 11–12) under the Federal Board (FBISE) and Punjab Boards (BISE). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It should be read together with our Terms and Conditions.
By creating an account or using the portal, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the portal.
1. Who we are
Athens Academy Islamabad is an educational institute and a company incorporated in Pakistan. We provide an online study portal offering study material (notes, quizzes, flashcards, model papers) and past papers to Pakistani students in Grades 9 to 12 following the Federal and Punjab Board curricula.
We operate on a not-for-profit basis as a social empowerment programme. We are not a charity and do not seek or accept donations; the modest monthly fees students pay simply cover the cost of running the Service. This is relevant to your privacy because we run the portal to educate students, not to profit from their data — we do not sell your personal information, and we collect only what we need to provide the Service.
Accounts on the portal are activated by Athens Academy Islamabad management only. Students do not interact with one another through the Service — there are no student profiles, messaging, or shared content between students.

2. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the portal and give you access to study material.
Information you give us:
- Account details — your email address. We use passwordless sign-in (Google sign-in or a one-time magic link sent to your email), so we do not create or store any password for you.
- Study preferences — the board and grade you select, and the subjects or units you choose.
- Payment information — for paid units, payment is made manually, either by bank transfer or through Easypaisa. We collect the details you send us to confirm a purchase (such as your name, the transaction reference or proof of payment, the mobile number used for an Easypaisa transfer, and which units you bought). We do not collect or store credit/debit card numbers.
- Messages you send us — anything you share when you contact us by email or WhatsApp.
Information we collect automatically when you use the portal:
- Activity and progress — for signed-in students, we record learning footprints such as quizzes attempted, flashcards reviewed, and items marked for revision, so we can show your progress.
- Download activity — we log downloads (for example, of past papers and model papers) to enforce fair-use limits (a set number of downloads per type within a rolling 24-hour window).
- Support engagement — if you click our WhatsApp contact button, we record that click to understand interest and follow up.
- Technical data — basic information your browser sends automatically, such as device type and general usage, used to keep the site secure and working.
- Analytics — we use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the portal so we can improve it. See Section 6 on cookies and analytics.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account and let you sign in.
- Give you access to free and paid study material based on your board, grade, and purchases.
- Track and display your study progress.
- Enforce fair-use download limits.
- Confirm and record manual payments and grant access to paid units.
- Respond to your questions and provide support.
- Send you essential service emails, such as the sign-in magic link.
- Keep the portal secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
- Understand overall usage through analytics so we can improve the portal.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
4. The services we rely on (data processors)
We use trusted third-party services to run the portal. These providers process data on our behalf, only as needed to deliver their service:
- Vercel — website hosting and delivery.
- Supabase — database and authentication (stores your account and content data).
- Google — Google sign-in (OAuth) for those who choose it; Google Analytics for usage statistics.
- Resend — sending sign-in (magic link) and other essential emails.
- WhatsApp (Meta) — when you choose to contact us for support.
- Google Drive — secure storage of our encrypted system backups.
Each of these providers has its own privacy practices. We share only what is necessary for them to perform their function.
5. International data transfers
Our portal serves Pakistani students, including those living abroad. Some of the service providers listed above store or process data on servers located outside Pakistan. By using the portal, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than the one you are in. We take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled securely wherever it is processed.
6. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies for two main purposes:
- Essential — to keep you signed in and make the portal work.
- Analytics — to measure how the portal is used (for example, via Google Analytics) so we can improve it.
Most browsers let you control or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop you from signing in or using parts of the portal.
7. How we protect your information
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including:
- Passwordless sign-in, so there are no passwords to be stolen.
- Two-factor authentication for staff and administrator accounts.
- Access controls limiting who can view student data.
- Encrypted backups stored securely.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. How long we keep your information
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the portal and meet legal or record-keeping requirements.
When an account is deleted, the associated personal information is removed — we do not keep deleted accounts for any retention period. We may retain payment and transaction records where this is necessary for accounting or to comply with the law.
9. Children's privacy
Our portal is designed for school and college students, and we know many of our users are under 18. Accounts are activated by our management, and students do not interact with each other on the Service. We collect only the limited information needed to provide study material, and we do not knowingly use student information for any purpose other than running the educational service.
If you are under 18, you should use the Service with the guidance and involvement of a parent, guardian, or teacher. If you are a parent or guardian and have a concern about your child's information, please contact us using the details in Section 1, and we will help.
10. Your choices and rights
You can:
- Access or update your account information by signing in, or by contacting us.
- Request deletion of your account and associated personal information.
- Opt out of analytics through your browser settings or available opt-out tools.
- Stop using the portal at any time.

11. Third-party links
The portal may contain links to other websites (for example, board or government resources). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Please review their policies before sharing information with them.
12. Governing law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. It forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms and Conditions.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top. Significant changes may be communicated through the portal. Continued use of the portal after an update means you accept the revised policy.
